Backlogged

While digital work normally isn't my forte, painting and drawing with more traditional materials is what I'm most comfortable with and what I've been working with the longest. For a while I was interested in getting into the gallery world, and while it's no longer my priority, I would like to be able to show someday and will probably continue to work on paintings in the mean time. Wat inspired this was I had an idea for a series of portrait painting that would involved mixed media. Primarily, I wanted to use a different material for the hair. With my first attempts, I tried using fabric. While it did get the desired effect, it was pricey and pretty hard to work with. I soon realized I could use scrapbooking paper and still get the effect I was looking for. After some testes, I developed the look below:
